Ecology Notes:
According to Owlet Caterpillars of Eastern North America (D. Wagner, Schweitzer, Sullivan, Reardon, 2011), this species occurs from southern Canada to mountains of Georgia and northern Arkansas, plus northern California. However, I collected larvae of this species in southwestern Colorado, as well as adults during the evening. More than likely the species occures in more western states than currently documented.
