Field observations:
|
I found moth sitting on flower at twilight (image at right). Forewing scales brilliant purple. Was able to grab moth by hand and toss into my backpack for duration of hike. Moth remained still during remaining hike & trip. Viable ovum was found on flower bud that moth was sitting on. Returning to field a week later, I witnessed a moth fly off a Phacelia crenulata flower. Scanning the flower I found 1 viable Baptarma ovum. |
